Obituary of Jacqueline C. Rochon

Jacqueline Celeste Rochon passed away peacefully, with her family by her side at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Grapevine, TX on June 5, 2019. She was 75 years old. Jackie, as she is known to family and friends, was born May 5, 1944 in Baton Rouge, LA. After graduating from St. Francis Xavier High School and attending Southern University Jackie married Everette C. Rochon February 1, 1964 at St. Francis Catholic Church, also in Baton Rouge.

Jackie dedicated herself to family raising her children and supporting her husband during 23 years in the Army traveling throughout the United States and overseas, specifically Ethiopia and Germany. She also enjoyed traveling with her family to Kenya, Nigeria, France, Austria, and the Netherlands.

Jackie spent her retirement years with her husband at their home in Hurst, TX where he and Jackie were long time parishioners of St. Michael Catholic Church in Bedford, TX. She loved meeting and talking with people, which often resulted in establishing long-term friends and acquaintances.

She loved home decorating and her passion was spending quiet time growing and tending to multiple varieties of roses in her garden. Jackie especially enjoyed traveling with her husband to Virginia to spend quality time with their children and to pamper the grandchildren.

Jackie is preceded by her father Ulysses Joseph Calvey II, her mother Carrie Little Calvey, and her daughter Stephanie T. Rochon Moten.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband Col. Everette C. Rochon, Sr., USA, Ret.; her son CDR Everette C. Rochon, Jr, USN, Ret., his wife Maria N. Rochon (Aldie, VA), their children Cameron, Brianna and Neriyah; Stephanie’s husband Jeffrey D. Moten, and their sons Miles and Pierce (Richmond, VA); her sisters Doris Calvey Dawson and Marian Calvey Davenport and brother Joseph Calvey III, as well as nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends
